About TETN

The Texas Education Telecommunications Network (TETN) provides videoconferencing opportunities to a consortium of twenty-one (21) entities; the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the twenty Texas Education Service Centers (ESC’s).

According to the TETN website, the mission of the Texas Education Telecommunications Network (TETN) is to “facilitate communications among educational entities throughout Texas to improve student performance and to increase efficiency of educational operations via an effective telecommunications network.”

Upcoming Changes

The traditional network is currently being replaced with high speed broadband connections among the Education Service Centers that will assist in providing new services beyond traditional videoconferencing services. Districts that are members of the VC Coop have access to the statewide education intranet and enhanced services including 21st Century applications, tools and digital resources. Region 7 is proud to be a TETN+ member. For more information regarding TETN please click here to be directed to their website.

TETN District Participation

Districts may participate in events listed on the TETN schedule that are categorized as “Open to districts” and have Region 7 listed as a participant.  If you need help determining whether or not your district can connect via VC, please contact  dl7@esc7net.

Recording Content

TETN provides ESC’s with the ability to record and distribute certain video conference events. In order to receive a copy of recorded TETN video conference events, a request must be sent at least 3 days prior to the event’s occurrence. To request a recording of a TETN video conference event, video conference district contacts will need to complete the TETN Recording Link Form
