R7 Employee Spotlight

Region 7 ESC Employee Spotlight

At Region 7 ESC, we're proud to shine a light on the incredible individuals who dedicate their lives to making a difference in education. Our biweekly Employee Spotlight highlights team members whose passion and commitment help shape the future of our students. Through their hard work and expertise, they support both teachers and students across the region. This week, we're excited to introduce three standout employees who exemplify what it means to lead with heart.

Jeannie Hipp

R7 Employee Spotlight Jeannie Hipp

Jeannie works in the Center for Academic Review Department and has been in education for 22 years.

"From a young age, I always envisioned myself as a teacher. In college, I felt a strong desire to major in education and inspire students to embrace all aspects of learning. I believe education is the cornerstone of every life milestone, empowering individuals to reach their fullest potential. After serving 21 years in the classroom, I joined Region 7 to embark on a new journey to channel my passion for literacy by supporting educators in creating meaningful learning experiences for students. I feel truly blessed to be part of a supportive team that shares my passions and commitment to making a difference!"

Michelle Cooper

R7 Employee Spotlight Michelle Cooper

Michelle works in the Digital Learning Department and has been in education for 27 years.

"I came to Region 7 ESC to serve the libraries of East Texas. They are the heart of our schools and communities. I want everyone to know how much they matter."

Teresa Richard

R7 Employee Spotlight Teresa Richard

Teresa works in the Information Management Systems (IMS) Department and has 27 years in Texas public education and 30 years total in public education.

"I decided to pursue a career in education to help children overcome challenges and achieve personal growth after witnessing the difficulties my son faced due to Tourette Syndrome. After progressing through various positions in six (6) LEAs across the state, I realized that by joining Region 7,  I could focus on supporting and helping smaller LEAs automate various processes. By automating these tasks, staff would have more time to focus on meeting the needs of their students. It has been a truly amazing journey in which I have formed great friendships over the years that are still strong to this day!"
