Region 7 ESC Employee Spotlight
At Region 7 ESC, we're proud to shine a light on the incredible individuals who dedicate their lives to making a difference in education. Our biweekly Employee Spotlight highlights team members whose passion and commitment help shape the future of our students. Through their hard work and expertise, they support both teachers and students across the region. This week, we're excited to introduce three standout employees who exemplify what it means to lead with heart.
Tracy is the Program Compliance Coordinator in the Head Start Department and has been in education for 24 years.
"I do what I do because I like generally helping people. Whatever their need, as a servant leader, I have an obligation to help them. As a servant leader, I also understand that leadership is not just about holding a position of authority; it's about being in service to those around me."
Patricia is the Executive Assistant to the Region 7 Executive Director and has been in education for 24 years.
"I chose to work at Region 7 because a friend recommended the job to me, and I've stayed because I love the opportunity to serve others both inside and outside the service center. Serving others is one of my God-given gifts, and this role allows me to live that purpose every day. Throughout my time here, I've had the privilege of working under great leadership, which has helped me continue growing and learning more in my career."
Jason is the School Improvement Coordinator in the Center for Effective Schools Department and has been in education for 18 years.
"After eight years in public health research, I found myself at a career crossroads. I could either move to Lafayette and continue my public health work or change course and join the “family business.” After visiting Lafayette and discovering they only have three seasons—football, crawfish, and Mardi Gras (only one of which appealed to me)—I decided to dive into teaching. Teaching felt like a natural extension of my belief in service. I was thrilled to have the chance to build the Anatomy and Physiology program at W.T. White High School in Dallas ISD. Along the way, at the Dub-T, I taught Biology and AP Environmental Science and took on roles as Program Development Specialist, Instructional Coach, and Assistant Principal (after a stint as an AP at Medrano Middle School). Before moving to “The Seven,” I served as the Director of Tutoring Services for Dallas ISD, where I helped build the district tutoring program in response to HB4545. After 24 years in Dallas, I felt it was time to return to East Texas. I was given the opportunity to join Center for Effective Schools Team at Region 7 and am excited to continue my journey in education and service to others."
