Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering

WHAT IS TAME?

The Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1976 that helps prepare Texas students for careers in science, technology, engineering, and math by providing K-12 students, parents, and teachers with STEM-related programs and resources.

Working statewide, TAME promotes diversity in STEM careers through the focused recruitment of women and minorities underrepresented in STEM fields.

TAME'S MISSION

TAME creates equitable experiences for students from underrepresented groups to explore futures in engineering by fostering their sense of belonging and equipping them with knowledge, skills, and intergenerational support through statewide programming at no cost to students.

TAME'S VISION

TAME envisions a Texas where students realize their full potential, build community in engineering, and create inclusive solutions that reflect and celebrate our diverse world.

HOW CAN I SIGN UP?

Know of a school or community group that would like to start a TAME Club in the East Texas area? Club and Student Registration opens in early August.

TAME Clubs are free! You don’t need to be a teacher, librarian, or engineering professional to register a TAME Club. You need an adult, 8 students in grades 6-12, and to meet regularly to do something (anything!) engineering-related. You can register scout troops, homeschool groups, NSBE Jr. clubs, and others with TAME, too! Sign up today.
