Leslie Dowdle
Leslie Dowdle is a Specialist in the Center for State and Federal Programs at Region 7 ESC, where she focuses on McKinney-Vento/Homeless services. She leads the Texas Education for Homeless Children and Youth (TEHCY) Shared Service Arrangements for Region 7 and serves as the Region 7 Homeless Liaison, providing support and guidance to all Region 7 school districts.
Before joining Region 7 ESC, Leslie gained extensive experience in public education, serving as a School Counselor at Lindale ISD and Gladewater ISD, a Special Education Teacher at Lindale ISD and Fruitvale ISD, and an Orientation and Mobility Specialist for the Blind at Arlington ISD.
Leslie provides training and support by analyzing homeless data, delivering emotional poverty training, conducting McKinney-Vento workshops, and providing technical assistance to schools, parents, and students. She has also presented at both state and national conferences on topics related to student homelessness.
