Courtney Thomas. M.Ed.

Courtney Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree from East Texas Baptist University and a Master’s in School Counseling from Lamar University. She has served as a teacher, school counselor, and campus administrator and brings 29 years of public school experience to her role as an ESSA and McKinney-Vento Specialist.

One of her primary roles, and greatest joys, at Region 7 is delivering Title I, A Paraprofessional training designed to assist paraprofessionals in meeting federal requirements. She also provides professional development, support, and technical assistance in the areas of Parent and Family Engagement and McKinney-Vento (students experiencing homelessness). Courtney’s expertise extends beyond the region, as she has presented at both state and national conferences, sharing strategies for supporting vulnerable, highly mobile student populations and promoting equity in education.
