Whether your role focuses on instruction, language, physical assistance, behavioral intervention, or other assigned duties, the paraprofessional's goal is to provide support to classroom teachers and/or individual students. Today's trainings are designed to support and develop your confidence as you perform duties in meeting the needs of individuals with unique learning differences in the inclusive classroom.

  • I'm a New Paraprofessional (Available at 9:55 AM only)
    • Are you new to your role as a paraprofessional? This hands-on session will guide you in an exploration of different resources you can readily access for instructional or behavioral strategies. Whether you need to enhance a lesson with more practice items or see the need to adjust the lesson to meet a student's immediate need, you will leave with real-time tools to successfully support the students you support. We will also create a Region 7 account together.

  • What Do I Need to Know About the Thirteen Disabilities? (Available at 9:55 AM, 12:20 PM, & 1:45 PM)
    • The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is the law that tells us how to determine if a child is a student with a disability. To better support students with disabilities, it is important to know how the impairment affects the learning. This session will increase your awareness of how disability doesn't define the student. All students have unique strengths and weaknesses.
